Gary's 40th, London and Paris

Hannah got me!!!

I knew I was going to London and Paris to see friends and to sightsee for my birthday but I had no idea of the amazing party Hannah had arranged for me.

We flew to London on the Thursday and met up with some friends for my birthday drinks in London on the Friday night.  We went into London again on the Saturday to meet my sister and daughters for high tea.  In the evening we were going to a bar for a friends 30th party (genuinely) - little did I know that I was I was being taken to MY 40th instead.

When we arrived at the bar, unexpectingly I was pushed through a curtain where all my friends were hiding wearing masks of me and shouting surprise - very funny and somewhat freaky. It could have been even funnier as Hannah didnt realise there were steps behind the curtain when she pushed me.....not the most graceful entrance :)

It was so good to see so many friends I haven't seen for such a long time.  People had travelled so far it was quite emotional I am really humbled.  Given most of you are nearly the big 40/30 I hope can return the thought and surprise sometime soon :)

Enjoy the pics...

Dave's Trip to Singapore

It was great to see Dave in Singapore in September.  Lots of sight seeing, a trip to Hong Kong and topped with the F1 Grand Prix resulted in some great memories and photos to share!

Hannah's 30th Birthday

Happy Birthday Doogle!

Hannah's birthday started with some excessive partying at No 5 Emerald Hill followed by "brunch" for 16 of Hannah's great friends at the Hyatt Hotel.  To think before we moved here Hannah was worried about meeting people ;)

Everyone had a great time especially the birthday girl who fitted in a trip to Bintan Indonesia with Josie and Kerie as well.

James and the snake

James came to see us again recently.

As always, this involved lots of mindless drinking although this time this wasn't the most eventful thing James brought. We almost died in the jungle though when James decided to pull a branch that had a very poisonous snake at the top of it!

Hannah and I are looking forward to James' next trip to Asia :)

One year on....

So...it's coming close to a year now and I can't believe how time has flown. Just thought I would post some new pics - some of Jan and Feb, when mum, dad and Jeremy visited and some of us with friends that live in Singapore...having been here this long I guess we had to show we do have some friends here!!

Anyway I hope everyone back home is well...lots of love as always

Malaysian F1 Grand Prix, March 2008

Hannah is fantastic :)

For my birthday Hannah bought us tickets to the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix at the Sepang Circuit. It was pretty amazing. I always remember getting up in the early hours of the morning in the UK to watch the Malaysian GP and now I was here - it didn't seem real.

We had great seats over the Ferrari pit and took some great photos. Weather was scorching though and would have been really uncomfortable if it hadn't have been for the chilled beers and Oreo cookies.

Our hotel in Kuala Lumpar was really nice, the Maya. Overlooking the Petronas towers I would thoroughly recommend it.

Cambodia, Siem Reap Jan 08

While Hannah's parents were here, we chose the opportunity to go to Cambodia. An amazing place and wonderful people.

The temples are pretty amazing and the town of Siem Reap is really cool; it's French colonial roots are everywhere to be seen from the food to the architecture. Enjoy the pics!

Lucy...

So we somehow ended up with a tiny dog this weekend as you can see from the photos. A spot of rain whilst out shopping for food meant passing by a pet shop and this little mutt heading home with us!!

Xmas 2007 and New Year's Eve

Happy New Year everyone!! Hope that it was good for all and wishing you the best for 2008. Christmas in the tropics was a little strange to say the least and we actually missed the cold! We had a Christmas dinner, English stylee, at ours and had over some friends before we headed off to Thailand. It was only when everyone round the table was totally stuffed but still trying to manage another roast potato that we felt like it was finally Christmas!

Headed over to Phi Phi for the Christmas week, where Gary and I did some diving and snorkelling and met up with my friend Gem and Colin who were travelling through. All to quickly had to say goodbye, but we did manage to find a proper Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day! The hats were courtesy of 'something to wear Secret Santa'....

New Year's was in Singapore...as you can see by this point totally in the swing of things with regards to dressing up. Gary and I had dinner together then joined friends in a rooftop bar for the countdown. Very strange to think that as we were off to bed those of you in England had not even passed into the New Year. Certainly missed you all!
